Initiatives
Following the approval of a new strategic direction by our Board of Directors
in December 2007, we are engaged in intensive research and design to translate
our aspirations into a tangible cohort of district partnerships. This work
addresses the first of the three strands in our strategy.
Throughout 2008, we are engaging with potential users (superintendents,
district cabinet members, state leaders), advisors from a variety of disciplines
and potential implementation partners to seek candid feedback on this emerging
strategy, co-design our programs and identify our initial cohort of districts.
Read more about the critical questions we are posing to ourselves and others
in Current Program Development.
We plan to launch district engagements across several states by early 2009.
The cohort will be designed to generate practical benefits for participating
districts and an emerging knowledge base on leadership for systems transformation.
This knowledge base will become the focus of our second strategic strand, a
learning network of increasing numbers of our 5,000 target leaders.
We will be eager to share our progress with you, and we invite you to sign
up to receive the foundation’s news updates.
