Stupski Foundation District Partnerships

In each of these partnerships, the foundation worked with executive leaders including:

  • Superintendents or Chief Executive Officers;

  • Cabinet members including Chief Academic Officers and Directors of Human Resources, Finance and Data/Accountability;

  • Supervisors of Principals, who provide the critical bridge between school sites and the central office; and

  • School boards, where appropriate.
The Leadership Connection
1996 - 2000

The foundation’s Leadership Connection program worked with school site leaders on leadership and literacy initiatives in partnership with San Francisco Unified School District.

The foundation engaged in research focusing on how school districts and their leaders coordinate their reform efforts to improve teaching and learning. In partnership with the Gates Foundation and Springboard Schools, the project included four district sites:
